You’ve been going over every possible way to explain your complicated teaching history. Or lack thereof.Â
Â
Balancing the line between being truthful and not speaking badly about your previous experience.
Meanwhile, your head is full of thoughts like:
They aren’t going to hire me.
I’m too young.
I’m too old.
Too much experience.
Too little experience.
After hours of tweaking, rehearsing, and perfecting, you walk away with… something that sounds nothing like you?
Â
Just for them to tell you they went a different direction.
Or worse… nothing at all.
Somewhere along the way, you were so busy trying to sound like the perfect teacher, you forgot who you are.
Â
You start to take the rejections as a sign.
Maybe I’m not cut out for this.
Maybe I’m not meant to teach.
There are so many other teachers out there that are better than me.
Don't worry... me too.
As a 21-year-old who just graduated with her Master’s Degree, I thought no one would take me seriously.Â
I was too young.Â
Too inexperienced.
Surely they are going to hire someone with more experience than me.Â
After being told that I would have to apply to dozens of districts before getting an interview, let alone being hired, I decided to do something different.
I decided to bet on me.
But I’m not the only one.
Â
3 years later, a first-year teacher named Bre messaged me asking for help.
The school year had already started, and she was running out of time.
After countless interviews and applications, she started to lose faith that teaching was her calling.
2 weeks of working together later, she had an interview with a district that felt like getting coffee with a future best friend.
Later that week, she was hired by her dream district.
And she’s not the only one. Since then, I have coached dozens of teachers to get hired by their dream district.
Â
Because here’s the truth: you aren’t getting hired because you aren’t good at interviewing.
Â
You’re not getting hired because you are so busy trying to be somebody else.
Chasing instead of knowing.
Mass applying instead of aligning.
I’m on a mission to keep good teachers in the classroom.
I want good teachers as coworkers, and as teachers for my kids.
Throughout my career, I’ve seen really good teachers leave the profession thinking it was them.
Their lack of classroom management.
Their lack of skill.
Lack of willpower.
But it’s not them. It’s their environment.
I want to keep good teachers in the profession.
That starts with getting them into good schools.
Over The Next 7 Days
Most job search advice will tell you to polish your resume, rehearse your answers, and apply everywhere.
This is not that.
This is about something deeper.
Becoming so clear on who you are and the impact you are here to make that the right district cannot help but notice you. The templates and frameworks are in here. But they only work once you know who is using them.

Ready to Be the Teacher They Cannot Ignore?
Is This For You?
This is for you if you are a teacher who has ever walked out of an interview and thought: I know I could do this job; I just could not show them that in there.
This is for you if you are actively job searching this season or preparing so that next season looks completely different.
This is for you if you are tired of mass applying and hoping someone notices you.
This is not for you if you are looking for a quick resume fix or a list of sample interview answers to memorize. This is an identity shift first. The templates and frameworks come after.
I cannot promise you a job.
What I can promise is that you will never walk into an interview the same way again.Â
The teacher who completes this experience knows who she is, why she teaches, and exactly what she brings to a district.Â
That does not disappear if one district says no. It compounds every time you show up.
Meet Helena
Helena Hains has spent the last six years on one mission: keeping good teachers in the classroom by getting them hired by districts that deserve them.
Through her book That New Teacher Next Door, digital courses, YouTube channel, podcast The Present Teacher, weekly emails, and social media posts, Helena empowers young women to design a life and career they are truly passionate about.
In 2018, Helena began her teaching career at just 21 years old. During her job search, she applied to three districts and used the very templates included in this course. Two of those districts called her in for interviews—and both offered her teaching positions on the spot.
Several years later, Helena sought to transition to her dream district, cutting out her 1.5-hour commute. Using the same templates, she landed an interview the very next week and graciously accepted the offer by the end of the week.
Bre M.
“Hi Helena!! I just wanted to let you know I got a teaching position!! I am sooo excited!! The principal gave me so much praise after each of my answers, she kept telling me I'm doing amazing and that she was so impressed. I've never had an interview panel make me feel so seen before, and that tells me this is the right position for me!!!”Â
TJ.
“Hi Helena!!! Great news, I finally landed a tenure track teaching job for the upcoming school year! Thank you so much for all your advice.”
Mary B.
“Of course, just thought I'd let you know you most definitely have a positive impact. I have felt good about the interviews I'm having.”
